Ending Circles Just beautiful piano/post-rock music. Puts a smile on my face everytime I listen to it. This music gives me the feel of walking through nature on a sunny day and I can actually realize how beautiful life is.

If you like music in the vein of Nils Frahm, HeklAa, The Tumbled Sea and Endless Melancholy you will love The Bird's Companion. Favorite track: The Fire.

about

This album was recorded in various locations throughout Canada including a bedroom in Ottawa up the road from my mom’s childhood home, an attic by the sea in Victoria, a 100-year old church converted into a vacation cottage by Okanagan Lake, and a recording studio in one of the oldest buildings in Kelowna.

These songs have traveled with me through many moves and life changes over the last few years. Throughout these travels, this verse from the book of 1 Kings has stuck with me:

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” – 1 Kings 19:11-13

These pieces of music are the results of my search for calm and beautiful spaces within a tumultuous world – spaces where I can be attentive to the still, small voice within.
